Retrieved: Special Saturdays 2

Ok~here goes last Saturday's post typed after the wedding dinner!
-----------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Special Saturday post numberrrrr 2!! Obviously typed on a Sunday bcos we got home late and JCH was running a little high on temperature when we got home. Right now, typing this post on trusty ASUS Transformer (post note: obviously blogger app not as trustworthy as my tablet), enjoying the breezy weather currently (post note: last sunday waasss cooollll~), the quietness of the house and watching JCH take his nap. Hubs has gone out for his bi-weekly soccer game. It used to weekly, until JCH came along and it became bi-weekly so that JCH would have his dad's full day's company every other Sunday.

Yesterday was a whirlwind of busy-ness! Usual morning routine with JCH, ending with my brunch at coffeeshop downstairs with SIL. After that we walked to Cold Storage together so that i can buy better avocados for the avo-cereal and also some peaches for JCH to start on. Got to the Cold Storage and saw they only had 4 peaches on the refrigerated shelf, and all 4 were like, beyond ripe with one of it looking like someone had just poked a finger into the flesh. Eeeeewww!! The next available was a box of 6 white nectarines for like $10+. Just bought that and got the other things we needed and went off. Read on Momtastic's Wholesome Baby Food web later that nectarines and peaches are the same, except that nectarines are without the fuzziness that peaches have, and that they are usually smaller, sweeter and have more reds on their skin compared to peaches. Met one of our sec sch teacher having lunch with his family at the foodcourt there while we were stopping over so I could get watermelon juice. Came home after buying of stuff and the crazy whirlwind ensued! Was preparing milk for JCH when I just let my eyes off him for like 5 seconds, and there he was in a bent down position from his bouncing chair, threatening to drop off it. And I had him elevated on the sofa. T.T Startled me so much that I immediately lounged to hold him up and spilled his milk all over the floor. Had to clean up the entire sofa area and myself before the ants start coming for the spilled milk, and feed the hungry baby. Put him to sleep and immediately got to preparing the avocado and nectarine puree. It was a crazy crazy rush because I only had like from 2pm to 6:45pm to finish (1) Processing and storing the avocado and nectarine purees, (2) Wash up all the equipment used in the preparation of the purees, (3) Wash up and sterilize all the bottles and whatnots, (4) Feed JCH in between and milk avo-cereal so he can last longer later, (4) Wipe him down and change into outing clothes, more about this later, (5) Load the stroller, (6) Clean up myself and prepare for the night. 4 hours 45min for so many things. I literally could not check on and play with JCH much. By the time i'm done, we got out of the house by 6:50pm. There was a wedding dinner to attend to that's why the bottles and whatnots had to be washed and all before we head out. By the time we got home, I don't think I would want to wash so many things already. And to make the rush eve more rush, JCH regurgitated some of his dinner while I was carrying him. Think I squashed his puny but full tummy when carrying him with one hand and pressing for lift and wearing shoes with the other. Sighs. Got hubs to go home and take a change of clothes for him.

Looked for a toilet to change JCH out of his shirt when we reached the hotel, only to realize that the toilets attached to the grand ballroom did not have any diaper changing facilities! Had to make do in the handicap toilet in his stroller. The only diaper changing station was at Level 1 behind the reception. (-.-"" ) The grand ballroom was on Level 3. This info will be updated under the tab for "Nursing Room". JCH had slept throughout the wedding event - from just before the first march-in, up till the 4th dish - before waking up for milk and in time for photo taking. He doesn't like yam seng session, gave the m-shaped mouth when people went "ya~~~~~mmm~~~~". But he was all fine after the initial sound of the "ya~~~". Funny boy. After feeding him, hubs and I brought him to Level 1 to change his diapers. And he fell asleep again just right after we changed him clean and put on his pants!!

While at the dinner function, JCH's head wasn't feeling quite right. It was a little warm to touch. We were thinking whether its because he had been sleeping for long stretches in the stroller. After changing him it was still warm, but his hands were cold to touch despite putting on his mini blanket over him. He wasn't fussing or anything. Got home soonest possible after the event ended, wiped him clean (where his vomit had landed, did use wet wipes earlier but towelling feels much cleaner), and changed to sleeping clothes, and took his temperature. 38deg. Put on the cooling patch over his head to cool down his temperature. We have paracetamol but I didn't want to give him that so soon. Continued observing him and taking his temperature at regular interval until 3am. His constantly declining temperature had reached and stayed at normal body temperature already. Thank goodness. Took off his cold patch in the morning when we woke up and he was happy as a happy birdie, chirping away early Sunday morning! So much so for a quick type on Saturday, time to sign off!
